THE RETREAT
The Retreat at Ardagh is the full lower ground floor of a three-storey Regency-era glebe house. It has its own separate private entrance at the rear of the house. The south-facing living/dining room has a large open fire, two sofas, a writing desk and a oak dining table; the galley kitchen off it is fully-eqipped and gets warm evening light from the west, filtered through the huge Clematis ouside the window.
The warm and sunny double bedroom is of generous size and also faces south with a view of a planted flowerbank, starting the year in January with the flowering of the first snowdrops; crocus and successive daffodils flower into late spring. Summer is a riot of lavender and geranium, the bank is also planted with three different Clematis.
